The Slider Jump (スライダージャンプ) was an obstacle that was introduced in SASUKE 22 to replace the Flying Chute in the First Stage. A hybrid of the Stick Slider and Jump Hang, competitors had to slide down a track holding onto a bar and launch themselves onto a net at the end of the track. Competitors can then decide if they want to go over or under the net. Going over the net takes more time but is safer while going under the net is faster but one is in danger of getting disqualified because they are close to touching the water.
The obstacle proved to be ruthless in SASUKE 22 as many top competitors failed there. Among them were Nagano Makoto, Levi Meeuwenberg, and Paul Anthony Terek who all had a chance to clear the First Stage. It returned in SASUKE 23, but the net was closer and lower. While more competitors cleared the obstacle it proved to be a massive time waster as several competitors timed out there. Some competitors came close to failing but regripped the net (David Campbell in SASUKE 22 and Joop Katana and Jordan Jovtchev in SASUKE 23). The Slider Jump obstacle notably malfunctioned when the rope holding the bar got caught around a metal support, preventing the bar from reaching the end of the track during the run of Nagano Makoto, who was given a a second attempt at the First Stage. It was removed when the course was modified following SASUKE 24.
